The 19th edition of the Montenegro International Guitar Competition will be held on May 30 and 31 in Tivat. The competition will be held in two categories - solo guitar and chamber ensembles with guitar. Applications must be submitted by midnight on May 20 to the email address montenegro.competition@gmail. Interested parties can find the rules and regulations for the competition, as well as the application form, on the website guitarmontenegro.com. This time, in addition to the competition, the festival also includes concert activities. On the first evening, May 30, in the hall of the DTV Partizan Cultural Center in Tivat, an educational concert will be held, entitled Takemicu and Henke - Music of Nature and Man. The concert will be held by Montenegrin guitarist Vasilije Toljić, who has received multiple awards and studied in Paris, Strasbourg and Maastricht, and is known for his programs that connect eras, aesthetics and forms. On the second day of the festival, May 31st at 8 pm on the big stage of the Tivat Cultural Center, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the performance of Spanish artist Laura Marín. This twenty-one-year-old singer and guitarist from Galicia has gained global and regional popularity with her interpretations of Balkan hits in the languages of the former Yugoslavia, which she publishes on social networks. In addition to her studies in Galician-Portuguese philology, Laura is also building a musical career that brings her closer to the local audience. Admission to both concerts is free. The competition is organized by the Anagastum Guitar Society, and the general sponsor of the festival is the Tivat Cultural Center.
