Dvorak - Bohemian Rhapsody Antonín Dvořák – Quintet No. 2 in G Major, Op. 77 1. Allegro con fuoco 2. Scherzo. Allegro vivace 3. Poco andante 4. The final. Allegro assai Antonín Dvořák – String Quartet No. 12 in F Major, Op. 96 "American" 1. Allegro ma non troppo 2. Lento 3. Molto vivace 4. The final. Vivace ma non troppo "Having a lofty idea is nothing special. The idea comes by itself, even if it is beautiful and great, a person cannot claim credit for it. Forming something truly great from a good idea is the most difficult task; this is the essence of true art." - these are the words of Antonín Dvořák from a lecture at the Prague Conservatory... The first chamber concert in 2026 will feature prominent members of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra: violinists Marija Đuranović and Nenad Jovanović, violist Uroš Lapčević, cellist Milan Ninković and double bassist Zoran Zakrajšek. The evening will be dedicated to one of the most important Czech composers and the founder of Czech instrumental music - Antonín Dvořák. In this composer's rich oeuvre, a significant place is occupied by: symphonies, concertos, symphonic poems, vocal-instrumental works and chamber music. Dvořák's most popular works were created under the impression of his stay in the USA, such as the "Symphony from the New World", the Cello Concerto in B minor, the "American" String Quartet, etc. These works sublimate the influences of black and Indian folklore, while looking at the entire oeuvre - Dvořák's compositional style is based on melodies from Czech folklore. The late Romantic String Quintet in G major, Op. 77, was completed by the composer in 1888. This four-movement work skillfully displays classical form interwoven with Czech folklore influences. The "American" String Quartet, composed in 1893, one of the most popular works of this genre, is inspired by elements of African-American and Native American culture and music and is recognizable by its use of the pentatonic scale, which gives it a specific "American" character, while at the same time retaining a deep Czech nostalgia and European classical form.
