#PodgoricaCulturalSummer2025 #Concerts🎶 The concert of the cult Macedonian darkwave band "Mizar" will take place on Saturday, September 20, at 8 p.m., on Slobode Street in Podgorica. Founded back in 1983, Mizar has gone through many phases to this day. The lineup has changed, they have broken up and reunited, while the only constant has been the composer, guitarist and ideological leader of the group, Gorazd Čapovski. Despite many changes, the band has remained consistent with its specific musical expression. Mizar creates music based on Old Slavic chants, Macedonian folklore and Byzantine tradition, wrapped in a darker outfit. They achieved the status of a cult band after the release of their self-titled debut album in 1988, the first of its kind in the Macedonian language. The album now includes the unforgettable hit “Devojka od bronza”, and in addition to the original songs, the album also includes the notable song “Zlatno sonce”, their version of the Macedonian folk song “Zajdi zajdi”. The album was declared the best in the then Yugoslavia that same year, and the group Mizar became a concert sensation and a response to the global gothic rock trend that was the current musical direction at the time. In his career so far, Mizar has released seven albums: Mizar (1988); Svjat Dreams 1762–1991 (1991); Kobna ubavina (2004); Pogled kon cvetnata gradina (2007); Deteto i beloto more (2010); Šarena Krava (2014); Večna praznina (2022). The six-member lineup masterfully performs compositions that resonate strongly, and their live performances leave no one indifferent.
