Karima, who came third and won the music critics' award at the Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi in 2006, continued to develop her career by signing her first contract with Sony Records and recording her first mini-album. Her strong and distinctively colored voice stems from a mix of jazz, soul, blues, and even gospel styles. She has gained extensive performing experience, including performances at the Sanremo Festival and collaborations with producer Bert Bacharach. Disney chose her to perform and record the soundtrack for the animated film The Princess and the Frog. She has opened concerts for Whitney Houston, John Legend, Simpli Red, Sila, and Anastasia. She is a favorite performer in China, where she performed for two consecutive years as part of the Close to You project, becoming the first performer of her genre at the prestigious Beijing Opera. She played the lead role of Rachel in the musical The Bodyguard, in 2017, a character originally played by Whitney Houston in the film of the same name. She has collaborated with the most famous Italian street band Frank Off and musicians such as Dado Moroni, Riccardo Fioravanti, Stefano Bagnoli. She has recorded the albums No Filter (Jando Music, 2021), Xmas (Emme Record Label, 2022) and Karima Canta autori (2025).
