KotorArt Festival - Opening Concert
Description
The 25th edition of the KotorArt festival begins on July 13th, the Day of Statehood of Montenegro. The opening ceremony is dedicated to one of the festival's founders, don Branko Sbutega, on the 20th anniversary of his death, and to the prominent Kotor composer Ivan Brkanović, on the 120th anniversary of his birth. Two significant works will be premiered on Pjaca in front of the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon: "Pjesme muzici" by Mladen Tarbuk, based on the poetry of don Branko Sbutega, and "Triptihon" by Ivan Brkanović for soloists, choir, and symphony orchestra. The Bokeljski Symphony Orchestra, the Academic Choir Ivan Goran Kovačić, soloists soprano Mihaela Kristina Mlinarić, tenor Aljaž Žgavc, and bass-baritone Krešimir Stražanac will perform under the baton of maestro Mladen Tarbuk. For over a month, Kotor will be the center of art, gathering artists from 13 countries through music, theater, and contemporary programs.
