CONCERT PROGRAM: D. Scarlatti - selected sonatas S. Prokofiev - sonata 6 in A major (in 4 parts). The mood of this large-scale work tells about the brewing great events of the Second World War. The alarm of those years, the cruelty of fascism and furious hatred were reflected in equally furious, bell-like and rigidly mechanical images. The sixth sonata is the first piano response of the artist to the approaching formidable elements, a premonition of it. The sixth sonata was first performed on April 8, 1940 by Sergei Prokofiev.
