The guitar duo Srđan Bulatović and Darko Nikčević will perform as part of the 38th Barski ljetopis festival, bringing the audience a program based on their own original compositions and decades of joint work. Srđan Bulatović, a doctor of classical guitar, and Darko Nikčević, a flamenco guitarist and master of audio technology, have been collaborating for more than 30 years. Their musical expression combines Balkan rhythms with Mediterranean and oriental influences, and they are known for performing original compositions that range between classical, traditional, world and contemporary music. The duo has recorded performances in numerous countries - from the USA and Russia, through Great Britain, Germany, Spain and France, to countries in the region, where their music is recognized as authentic and stylistically diverse. They have released ten albums, including releases for the international label Naxos Records. Their music is also available on global streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify, where it is on relevant playlists dedicated to classical guitar. The duo's compositions have been broadcast on numerous radio stations around the world, including BBC Radio 3, Hawaii Public Radio and NDR Kultur, while two of their tracks were included in the international compilation Comfortable Guitar, published by Naxos Japan. They have received special recognition in the field of publishing through their cooperation with Naxos Sheet Music Publishing, where the notes of their works have been published and where they, as authors, have been presented on the official composer page of that publishing house - which places them among the first from the region to be represented in this international catalogue. In addition to works for duo guitar, they are also the authors of larger forms, among which the ballet "Mediterranean" stands out, as well as the symphonic works "Europe Symphony" and "Fantasia concertante for two guitars and orchestra - The Secret". For their work to date, Bulatović and Nikčević have been awarded the Thirteenth of July Award, the highest state award in Montenegro.
