“The Olive is the Name of Bar” The traditional event “Maslinijada”, the twenty-third in a row, will be held this weekend, on December 12, 13 and 14 in Stari Bar. The opening ceremony and the central celebration are scheduled for Saturday, December 13, at 11 a.m. Organized by the NGO “Maslinijada” and the NGO Olive Growers Association “Antivari”, under the auspices of the Municipality of Bar and the Tourist Organization, with the support of the “House of Olives” Bar, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the Ministry of Regional and Investment Development and Cooperation with NGOs, this year’s three-day edition of “Maslinijada” will bring together 70 exhibitors from Bar and Montenegro, olive growers, winemakers, local producers of honey, medicinal herbs, as well as experts in the field of olive growing. Along with a lecture on "Olive growing and/or tourism - challenges of sustainable development", the announcement of the winner in the best olive oil category and the awarding of awards, the event will also be marked by a rich cultural, artistic and entertainment program, as well as an art colony of artists from the countries of the region called "Street in Art - Oliva", who will paint canvases in an open space and prepare an exhibition with motifs of olive trees and the Old Town.
